Three declaration checks

First, the product name: fill in honestly, do not replace a specific name with a generic word. Second, quantity and value: must match the invoice; value affects insurance and declaration scope. Third, consignor and consignee details: must exactly match the customs declaration. Mismatched information is the most common reason for document rejection at the border, usually costing 2-3 extra days to correct.

Four packaging protections

Against pressure: use reinforced cartons or wooden cases for heavy goods, add cushioning for fragile items. Against moisture: wrap cargo in waterproof bags before boxing in rainy seasons and sea legs. Against leakage: seal liquids in tight containers with extra leak-proof packaging. Against spillage: ensure strong sealing for granular and powder products. With many transfer points, packaging standards should be higher rather than lower.

Special categories

Battery-powered products (including lithium batteries) must comply with transport requirements and be declared honestly; cosmetics, food and pharmaceuticals need relevant qualification documents; branded goods require authorisation. When in doubt, confirm with your manager in advance rather than discovering problems at the border.
